Laila Jade Wilson

Greetings!
My name is Laila Jade Wilson, and I am a Broadcast Journalism student from Tallahassee, Florida. I am proud to be a third-generation Rattler and a second-generation Broadcast Journalism student at Florida A&M University.
My Story
I have worked professionally as a DJ since the age of seven, a passion that has led to me receiving three proclamations from the Mayor of Tallahassee, Leon County Schools, and the Leon County Commissioners. In October, I made history as the first-ever recipient of the Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award, presented by the Office of Economic Vitality and the City of Tallahassee.

Throughout my time at FAMU, I have completed two internships with HBCU Gameday and Mega Ace Media, where I gained valuable skills in multimedia storytelling, video editing, social media management, and on-camera reporting. I currently serve as the Associate Producer for FAMU TV 20’s Wednesday newscasts, where I assist in writing scripts, coordinating story flow, and helping ensure the smooth execution of each show.
